The Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly and all its member countries, are a collection of 17 Global Goals that aim to meet the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges faced by our world. The global development vision, “Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, lays out the Sustainable Development Goals with targets to help organise and streamline development actions for greater achievement of human well being, while leaving no one behind by 2030. The SDGs, with its 169 targets, are a universal call to action for poverty eradication, building a sustainable planet and safeguarding the global ecosystems on which humanity depends for its survival.
